Promotion of Fair Trade
FTG Nepal promotes the Fair Trade concept as such and advocates the broad based issues within it such as child labour, gender equity, business transparency etc. Under this focus area, FTG Nepal conducts following programs.
Awareness raising and orientation on Fair Trade
Celebration of World Fair Trade Day, media campaigns, workshops and interactions on Fair Trade issues and speaking out the Fair Trade messages at national and international platforms are some of the activities it conducts on a regular basis. Also, FTG Nepal conducts orientation programs for grassroots producers and farmers, enterprises, NGOs and business support organizations to promote Fair Trade practices and to boost membership of the organization.
Lobby/advocacy and networking
FTG Nepal undertakes lobbying activities to influence policymakers to adopt fair trade friendly policies. Presenting position papers to the concerned bodies, joint delegation, appeal to the concerned policy level authorities are the ways we follow to lobby. FTG Nepal also builds network with the local, national and international level stakeholders and actively take part in relevant informal and formal network.
