Kumbeshwar Technical School

Kumbeshwar Technical School (KTS) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that was established to support socially and economically deprived and underprivileged people. It is an educational and vocational training institute catering to the needs of the low income families throughout the country. The school runs a free primary and nursery school and shelter for homeless children. It provides vocational training opportunities with allowances to young people in hand knitting, carpet weaving and furniture making. Some 1,200 producers from 5 districts of the country are benefiting from these programs. The major products of KTS include silk, pashmina, cotton and woolen knitwear, banana fiber and nettle (allo), hand-woven woolen carpets and wooden furniture.
