Fair Trade Group Nepal

Fair Trade Group (FTG) Nepal is a consortium of Fair Trading organizations in Nepal. All our activities are directed towards the advancement of the socioeconomic status of underprivileged and marginalized producers across the country. It was formally registered as a non-trading not for profit an NGO in 1996.

FTG Nepal aims to develop constructive collaboration among the Fair-Trading Organizations to influence policy and promote Fair Trade in Nepal. It also aims to enhance solidarity among Fair Trading and like-minded organizations, partners and stakeholders at the national, regional and international levels for the further promotion of the Fair-Trade movement. Our endeavor is to continue to improve and enhance the well-being and quality of life of marginalized producers and artisans, and to promote Fair Trade Values.

FTG Nepal has been a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) since its inception and is also the country network for WFTO Asia. Today, FTG Nepal is one of the strongest country networks of Fair Trade Organizations recognized within the country, and at the International Level.

  • Total Fair Trade handicraft export accounts for 20% of Nepal's total handicraft export
  • Exporting to more than 25 countries in North America, Europe, and Pacific Asia
