What Is Fair Trade

What Is Fair Trade?

Fair Trade is a trading partnership based on dialogue, transparency and respect. Fair Trade seeks equality in international trade; it contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions such as securing rights for marginalized producers and workers- especially in the global South. Fair Trade is a global movement involving approximately 3,000 grass roots and umbrella organizations in more than 70 countries around the world. Thousands of Fair Trade shops and supermarkets across the globe sell these products. Fair Trade is more than just trading; it provides justice and equal opportunities for all in the world trading system.
