Samajik Sip Bikash Udhyog

Samajik Sip Bikash Udhyog (SSBU) is a GOTS-certified social enterprise based in Bouddha–6, Jorpati, Kathmandu. Established in 2012, SSBU produces high-quality textile goods for international markets while providing skill-based training and fair employment to disadvantaged Nepali women. The organization supports women regardless of caste, religion, or background, maintaining a referral partnership with the Women’s Foundation Nepal (WFN) to strengthen empowerment and social transformation efforts.

SSBU currently employs over 80 women affected by poverty, abuse, or violence, offering dignified working conditions, livelihood opportunities, and economic independence. Sixty percent of its profits support WFN’s social programs, while the rest is shared between the women and operational needs. With exports to Europe, Canada, Australia, Japan, and the US, SSBU welcomes visitors to its production center in Boudhanath to explore and purchase its handcrafted products and to join as business partners in promoting sustainable change.
